Sovereign Decree on the Conferral of Arms and the Ennoblement of Erik White of Shoreline, Washington, United States, to the Rank and Dignity of Baron White
WHEREAS it appertains to the Crown, in the exercise of royal prerogative, to reward merit and to uphold the order and honour of the Nobility of Kaharagia;
AND WHEREAS Erik White has rendered meritorious service, shown unwavering loyalty, and given steadfast commitment to the Principality and to the Sovereign;
AND WHEREAS We are persuaded of his exemplary integrity and noble character, and judge that his continued service will redound to the dignity and advancement of Our Realm;
AND HAVING REGARD to the customs, traditions, and laws of Kaharagia touching the creation and regulation of hereditary dignities;
NOW, THEREFORE, WE, in Our Sovereign capacity and having duly considered the advice of Our counsel, do decree as follows:
Article I — Creation and Style
1. Erik White of Shoreline, Washington, in the United States, is hereby ennobled and created to hold the dignity and title of Baron White, with all rights, privileges, duties, and responsibilities appertaining to that rank within Our Realm.
2. In accordance with the customs of Kaharagia, the holder of the dignity shall bear the styles of “Excellency” and “The Noble and Highborn”, and shall at all times be addressed and received with the distinction and deference proper to that rank.
Article II — Heredity and Succession
1. The dignity of Baron White is hereditary, descending to the legitimate first-born or lawfully adopted heir, irrespective of sex, in accordance with the laws of the Principality.
2. In the absence of such an heir, the dignity shall pass to the senior qualified member of the family most closely related to the last holder, as determined by the Courts of Kaharagia upon petition.
3. Failing such person, the dignity shall revert to the Crown and thereupon determine.
Article III — Precedence and Duties
1. The holder shall take place and precedence among holders of the rank of baron according to the date of this creation, save where special precedence is otherwise granted by Us.
2. The holder shall maintain conduct consonant with the honour of the Nobility, render counsel to the Crown when called, and uphold the peace, dignity, and good order of the Principality.
3. The holder owes true and faithful allegiance to the Sovereign and obedience to the laws of Kaharagia; grave misconduct or disloyalty may be proceeded against as provided by law.
Article IV — Incidents and Courtesy
1. The lawful spouse of the holder shall enjoy the courtesy style and precedence appropriate to the consort of a baron.
2. The legitimate children shall enjoy such courtesy styles and privileges as may be prescribed by law and custom, without prejudice to the rules of succession.
Article V — Armorial Bearings
1. By this Decree, arms proper to the dignity of Baron White are hereby granted and assigned, the blazon and design of which are set forth in the Annex hereto attached.
2. Such arms shall be borne by the holder, and by his lawful heirs and successors in the dignity, in accordance with the laws and heraldic customs of Kaharagia.
3. No alteration, differencing, or augmentation shall be made save by Our further authority expressed by Warrant or Sovereign Decree.
4. The Institute of Heraldry shall record the arms in the Kaharagian Register of Arms.
Article VI — Entry into Force
1. This Decree shall enter into force immediately upon Our signature.
2. It shall be entered into the Royal Kaharagian Gazette and published accordingly.
